Scholarships for Brewster High School Seniors

Annual Scholarship Awards for 2027

Committee: The Brewster Ladies’ Library Association (BLLA) Scholarship Committee.

Award: The amount, number, and length of scholarships offered may vary each year. For 2027, there will be two offered, each in the amount of $5,000.

Eligibility: Graduating senior who reside in Brewster, MA, at the time of application and attend a high school on Cape Cod. Applicants must be in their senior year of high school and planning to attend a two- or four-year college/university or a vocational/technical school of higher learning beginning with the summer or fall semester of their graduation year. 

Application: The student’s scholarship application packet should contain the following:

  • a résumé that includes all attended high schools, extracurricular activities, community service, and work experience;

  • a transcript;

  • an essay as described on the application form;

  • the completed Expected Family Contribution form from the student’s FAFSA; and

  • a letter of recommendation from the school’s faculty and, optionally, from a second adult as described on the application form.

These documents should be submitted to the school’s guidance department by April 1, 2027, and received by the BLLA Scholarship Committee no later than April 15, 2027. The winners be announced at each student’s high school Awards Night.

Selections will be based upon the following considerations:

  • residency in Brewster, MA, at the time of application

  • financial need

  • grade point average

  • personal recommendation(s)

  • participation in high school extracurricular activities

  • volunteer work done on Cape Cod

  • employment records during high school

  • future goals and objectives

A personal interview with the BLLA’s Scholarship Committee may be required.

Payment: Payment will be made directly to the student after successful completion of the first semester. A copy of the student’s transcript should be mailed to the Brewster Ladies’ Library Association, Attention: Scholarship Committee, 1822 Main Street, Brewster MA 02631. The transcript may also be emailed to blla.website@brewsterladieslibrary.org. Upon receipt, the BLLA will send a check to the student in the amount of the scholarship award.

Disclaimer: If for any reason an award winner’s qualifications for winning the scholarship changes or the student fails to submit the qualifying transcript within 60 days of the conclusion of the semester, the Brewster Ladies Library Association has the right to withdraw the scholarship award.
