Shellfish aquaculture, or shellfish farming, involves cultivating bivalve shellfish like oysters, mussels, and clams in controlled environments for food or restoration purposes. Brewster and other towns on Cape Cod work together with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries to regulate and manage aquaculture.
