Discovery & Enrichment Series: Shellfish Aquaculture

Join us for an introduction to the region’s thriving shellfish aquaculture industry. Shellfish aquaculture, or shellfish farming, involves cultivating bivalve shellfish like oysters, mussels, and clams in controlled environments for food or restoration purposes. Brewster and other towns on Cape Cod work together with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries to regulate and manage aquaculture.

Abigail Franklin Archer is a Fisheries & Aquaculture Specialist at Cape Cod Cooperative Extension & Woods Hole Sea Grant. For the 2024-2025 year, she has been President of the Southern New England Chapter of the American Fisheries Society. She has an M.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Registration recommended.
